Turkey Camp 2026
Opportunity Outdoors is hosting our sixth annual Mentored Turkey Camp April 17th - 19th, in the Nantahala National Forest of North Carolina.
What Opportunity Outdoors Turkey Camp Is:
- Two nights of camping, hunting, and connecting with both new and experienced hunters.
- An inclusive and supporting environment where questions and advice is encouraged.
- Somewhere that a seasoned hunter will sit down, look at the map, and help you with a gameplan for your hunt the next day.
- The “do it” camp. Get out there and hunt! If you are admitted to camp, you will be expected to hunt on your own.
- Physically demanding at times due to the terrain and nature of hiking on national forest.
- An opportunity to learn, make new friends, and become tighter with a community of hunters looking to help one another grow and succeed.
- Safety, ethics, conservation, and respect for wild places are valued over the harvest.
- Advice, stories, wild game, and laughs will be shared around the camp fire.
What Opportunity Outdoors Turkey Camp Is Not:
- A guided hunting experience where an experienced hunter takes you out to kill a turkey.
- An outfitted experience where gear is provided.
- A place to complain, be unsafe, or be disrespectful to other campers, hunters, or public land in general.
- Where you expect to kill a turkey and will be disappointed if you do not.
What You Will Need To Attend Turkey Camp:
- Hunter education course.
- Legal firearm/method of take and ammo.
- Turkey Hunting and Camping gear.
- A blaze orange hat or vest. (Yes we know turkey hunting regulations do not require this, but we will explain why you will need it at our camp)
